ROUND 2

Oh my goodness. Life has been so crazy lately that I’ve realized we’ve never officially announced to you all one really important update!

Madelyn is getting a younger brother!

This pregnancy has definitely been very different compared to the first. For one, I was extremely nauseous and threw up a lot more the 2nd time around. With Maddy, I craved more sweets but with baby boy I’ve been craving more spicy foods. I also felt like the size of a balloon by the time I was 13 weeks hah! Some things about this pregnancy are still the same though. The insecurities are the same, the unsolicited advice or comments about how big I look are the same, the emotions are still a train wreck, the stretch marks are worse. It’s been a new but familiar journey.

To be completely honest, there have been times where I forget that I’m pregnant (minus the fact that I have a protruding belly). It’s true what they say about having additional children. With our first child, I was reading every book, every article I could find on google, know week-by-week what size of fruit the baby was, would talk and sing to her in my belly, would be hyperaware of her every movement. With baby boy, let’s just say…we don’t even have a name for him yet. Some days it takes awhile before I feel him moving in the womb. If that happened with Maddy, I would have already been panicking and on my computer googling, but with baby boy I’m like “eh, he’s probably just lazy. He’s fine.”

A lot of people have asked if we’re ready for the 2nd child and some would also comment on how we’re going to be pros now. HAH! Let’s be honest, can one actually ever be 100% ready for a baby? They’re so unpredictable! Even if you’ve read every book and article out there about what to do, your baby has never read a single book and make up their own rules so…no we’re not 100% ready but we’re 110% excited for our expanding family. I know I brag about Danny a nauseating amount but I know with him, no matter how hard having a 2nd kid is going to be, I know we’re going to be okay. He seriously is the BEST dad, and I have no doubt he’s going to be an amazing father of 2. So, cheers! Here’s to a crazy round 2!
